Spending time in the wilds, watching groups of elephants grazing freely on the dry reservoir bed of Kalawewa National Park is a treat to anyone. The action and drama that unfolds, calfs playing, adults feeding on the rich grass, big bull elephants wandering through the groups. Everywhere you look there is something to photograph. Intimate moments are also a sight that shows the emotions and love that is found amongst the groups.

I was watching this young calf flanking her mother trying to reach and get her fill. As I watched her suckling through my view finder I caught the image of her eyes through the chaos of legs and trunks. The innocence is reflected through her eyes as she calmly drinks from her mother.
