Driving through the gravel roads of the village of Kathnoruwa, known for conflict between farmers and elephants, its not unusual to see elephants crossing between these narrow roads that cut through the several elephant corridors in the area.

One day while on one of my journeys in search of rare tuskers I came across a small family group about to cross the road. Having stopped the vehicle and as a practice keeping my camera ready I waited for them to cross. As they all stepped onto the road together, they faced me, lined up like a family picture with the little calf in front and bigger members in the back. Such an amazing moment of elephants in a family pose.
